Answer #1

locomotion is of utmost importance and thus can expect flagella, which would help in motility to play a key role.

A defective enzyme in mitochondria would possibly slow down the synthesis of ATP but will not affect the flagella directly.Actin molecules in cellular microfilaments will not influence the flagella as flagella are made of microtubules and not microfilaments..Lysozymes are of more importance in cells in immune system and their abnormal function would not cause defective sperm. T is the dnein molecules that act as molecular motors in flagellum movement that will affect this movement most directly. .

Lastly the ribosome assembly might harm overall protein synthesis and is not confined to the sperm.

However, defective dynein molecules in flagella would mean impaired movement of the flagella and hence defective sperm leading to infertility.

This can have important applications in treating fertility. Knowing this is important in treating infertility. A lack of this knowledge might cause incorrect treatment where the count of defective sperms could be increased to no effect.

please answer all that you can 1. You have genetically engineered green fluorescent protein (GFP) containing a KDEL sequence (GFP-KDEL). When GFP-KDEL is expressed in normal human fibroblasts and examined using fluorescence microscopy, the fluorescence appears diffuse across the cytoplasm. How would you explain this observations given that KDEL is supposed to be an ER-specific sorting sequence? A. This engineered GFP would not have a hydrophobic signal sequence to get it into the RER in the first place. B. The...
