Write a journal entry of about 250-300 words on " Is capital punishment morally permissible?".

Capital punishment is a death penalty given by law for committing serious offense such as murder or rape etc. Yes capital punishment is morally permissible. If we talk about law, law also authorize capital punishment in certain cases. It is morally permissible because the victim should be given justice. It is necessary to provide justice to innocent people who become victims of the cruel crime committed by offenders. In order to reduce criminal activities in future it is necessary to give capital punishment to capital offender or serious criminals. It is necessary because it will create a fear in the mind of other criminals and they will avoid to commit a crime further. By giving capital punishment criminals can be taught a lesson that, outcome of bad acts are also bad.

Some experts argued that giving death penalty is not the solution of reducing crime rates. They says that criminal get more dangerous and cruel with the fear of death penalty. Those experts contend that mistakes are done by human and they should be given a chance to rectify them. It's been observed that many dangerous criminal subsequently repent for their previous acts and want to start new and peaceful life.

In many cases it's been found that many innocent people are convicted of murder or other crimes and given capital punishment. Which is totally wrong and law says that its better to release 10 convicted criminal but single innocent person should not be given punishment.
