Type of lies :
Various types of lies are as follows :
a. White lie : Here the liar tells the cold, hard truth while being polite and respectful to others.
b. Compulsive lie : When a person has habit of lying over every single thing over years.
c. Broken promises : When a person cannot keep their promises or commitments and often break them as per their convenience.
d. Lie of influence : Here a person try to maintain his or her image by lying and making them look good.
Examples :
a. A lie to protect privacy : When asked for a cell phone number while on the subway by the stranger, Nancy lies that she does not remember her cell phone number as she has taken a new number week back, also she is not carrying a cellphone with her, to protect her privacy.
b. A lie to avoid conflict : Adam lies to his younger sister that he did not ate the last chocolate from the refrigerator to avoid further conflicts with her.
c. A lie to get know someone : John who is an clerk, lied to Emma that he is an banker to get know her better.
Lying of any sort isn't good as by lying person tries to hide or manipulate the information and truth, which can cause risks or damages to other person. While some lies aren't considered serious lies but if the truth is known at some point person who lied, their image gets damaged.
