Activated oncogenes and loss of tumor suppressor in term alter metabolism and induce aerobic glycolysis. Aerobic glycolysis links the high rate of glucose fermentation to cancer. NADPH and ATP to build new cancer cell, which persist in hypoxia that in turn rewires metabolic pathway for cell growth and survival. Hence metabolism and cancer are associated with each other.
