What effect would loss of ions in the surrounding solute have on electrostatic interactions between macromolecules? Why would this effect occur? Electrostatic interaction: This is the interactions which is found between the two objects, which have electrical charges on the molecule.

There are two kinds of interactions:

* Positive interaction: In such electrostatic interaction, there is found opposite charges on two molecules. And there found force of attraction.

* Negative interaction: In such interaction, there is found dame charge on two molecules and there is found repulsive forces.

If there is loss of ion in the surrounding solute occurs in case of electrostatic interaction. Then there is also found loss of electrostatic interaction. Because as we know that when there is found two opposite partial charges on macromolecules, then there is found attractive forces. Now if we remove the partial positive charged containing ions, the there is found negative ions only and this leads to remove the attractive forces between molecules. And in this way, electrostatic interaction is lost.

similarly when the same charged containing ions are present, then there is found opposite forces. But when we remove negative part, then there is not found any repulsive forces and electrostatic interaction is also lost.
