Onset – When did patient began to experience depression.
Duration – How long has the patient been experiencing depression.
Characteristic – Symptoms shown by patient such as body language, type of speech as a part of diagnosing depression.
Aggravating factors – Detailed history of patient showing incidents which depress the patient a lot.
Relieving factors – Factors which are seen to change the mood of patient and increase the excitation level.
Treatment – Antidepressants and CBT.
Location – The specific location of depression is in the brain. The major areas which are responsible for depression are amygdala, hippocampus and the thalamus area of brain and the CNS. Antidepressants given are found acting on these areas.
