After the world war II Japan economy had worsened in terms of high inflation rate, reduced production etc. In order to come back and be a top global economy, Japan focused on Total Quality management principals it also incorporated corporations like MITi.

South Korea after independence followed some of the principles of quality management and focussed on skilled labour, thanks to US help which enriched south Korea knowledge base by giving education to people of south Korea. Industries followed principles like kaizen, JIT, process improvement etc to get a boom and market their products worldwide.
