Soln. Suppose the total adult population is X

And, suppose the total no of people, who are employed and unemployed = Y

Therefore, X - Y = 60 million

These statement states that, out of total population, which is eligible to work, there are 60 million people, who do not participate in work force. There are 60 million people, who are adult but do not participate in labor force.
