Discuss whether the sarcomere length increased, decreased or stayed the same in muscle fibers from
a). 0.25% ATP distilled water
b). 0.25% ATP, 0.05 M KCL, 0.001 M MgCl2
c). 0 ATP, 0.05 M KCL, 0.001 M MgCl2
1. The sarcomere length decrease or contract in third test tube because glycerinated muscle contracted in presence of ATP and without ATP, activation of myosin head in muscle is not possible. Mg ions interfere with muscle contraction in case of live tissue but in glycerinated tissue , MgCl2 and KCl solution addition to ATP increases the muscle contraction due to mysosin's high compatibility to these ions.

In each case indicate whether the quantity in question increased, decreased or stayed the same when the string length is increased. Assume that the tension is unchanged. The function generator is kept at the same frequency, and the string is in resonance in all cases. Wavelength: Fundamental frequency: Fundamental wavelength: Wave speed:

(doubles, stayed the same, or fallen by half). EXCEPT, the options
for the blank at E are (increased, decreased, or stays the
same).

Abby consumes only apples. In year 1, red apples cost $1 each, green apples cost $2 each, and Abby buys 10 red apples. In year 2, red apples cost $2 each, green apples cost $1 each, and Abby buys 10 green...
of the three types of fibers; microfilaments (or and intermediate filaments are fibers with diameters in a Microtubules are the filaments) are the middle range. Microtubules are hollow rods about 25 nm in diameter and 200 nm to 25 um in length. Microtubule fibers are constructed of the globular protein A tubulin dimer consists of two slightly different polypeptides: a-tubulin and B-tubulin. Microtubules shape and support the cell and serve as tracks to guide motor proteins carrving organelles to their...

smooth pipe: Total length, L Diameter, d -25 mm 4 m tank water (pa 1,000 kg/m3, μ 0.001 kg/ms) flows from a very large tank (that is open to atmosphere) through an L 4 m total length of smooth pipe of d = 25 mm diameter at a bulk velocity of 6 m/s. The water then exits the pipe at 3 m above ground as a free jet. The pipe network contains a gate valve (V),...

QUESTION 4 (25 marks) Water (Cr 4.208 kJ/kg.K) at flow rate of 5.11 kg/s s heated from 78°C to 98°C in an economizer inside a boiler. The boiler is a cross flow heat exchanger with single pass, shell fluid mixed and other fluid unmixed. The average water velocity in the 1.5 cm diameter (D) tube is 1.27 m/s. On the shell side, hot air (C,-1.0341 kJ/kgK) was used as the heating fluid with 7.3 kg/s of it entering the exchanger...
A bottled water distributor wants to determine whether the mean amount of water contained in 1-gallon bottles purchased from a nationally known water bottling company is actually 1 gallon. You know from the water bottling company specifications that the standard deviation of the amount of water is 0.02 gallon. You select a random sample of 45 bottles, and the mean amount of water per 1-gallon bottle is 0.994 gallon. Complete parts (a) through (d) below. a. Is there evidence that...

b) n = 9 and = 7.0 pounds
c) Which sample provides the most precise estimate of the mean
birth weight?
d) Interpret the CI you computed in part a).
2. P-value and confidence interval. A...
