What is Flexible Exchange System? Why can't its system achieve the objective of balanced trade balance?

Flexible exchange rate is also known as floating exchange rate where the value of currency is allowed to float in response to changes in foreign exchange market. The balance of trade impacts currency exchange rate via demand and supply in the foreign exchange market which leads to appreciation or depreciation of currency. For a country which exports more than it imports then demand for its currency rises and vice versa.
