1). In a genome's book by Matt Ridley has mentioned that memories, both good and bad, influence who we are. If science advanced to the point of being able to delete memories, would you want to have it done?
2). Do you believe we will ever able to cure cancer? Why or why not?
3). Tools are now available that allows us to modify bacteria, plants, and animals (including humans). Where do you stand on genetic modification?
4). There was a concept of personalized medicine based on our ability to sequence each individual's genome. This raises the question of who has a right to your genome? The government for research? Insurance companies to determine your rates? Your children to know what diseases/disorders they might be predisposed to?
Ans1)No i would not want ti delete my memories whether good or bad because they make us who we are and i dont want a part of me to be deleted.
Ans2)Yes i believe that we will one day be able to cure cancer. This is because once we stop the telomerase activity we will be able to cure cancer.
Ans3)Yes ,now genetic modification of plants and animals is possible. It is a set of technologies used to change the genetic makeup of cells, including the transfer of genes within and across species boundaries to produce improved or novel organisms. New DNA is obtained by either isolating and copying the genetic material of interest using recombinant DNA methods or by artificially synthesising the DNA.Example genetically modified crops are being cultivated now a days.
Ans4)I think that only we have the right to our genome and may be to some extend our family to make us precautious. Else no one, not the government, research agencies have any right over our genome.
