1. What types of worms are parasites? Who are their hosts and where do they live inside of the host. Are they all in the same phylum or not?
2. Be able to explain an overview of the life cycle of the tapeworm and a blood fluke in its definitive & intermediate hosts; in which host does sexual & asexual reproduction take place? How do the hosts get the parasites?
3. What similarity of Annelids & Mollusks suggests that these phyla are closely related?
As per HomeworkLib guidelines I should ans only 1st question.so here we go
1.Parasites worms are otherwise known as intestinal worms. They get into the body of humanbeings through consumption of contaminated water, unboiled meat.parasitic worms are responsible for many well known diseases like ascariasis .They are responsible for fatigue, weight loss, vomiting, fever also.
Their hosts are humanbeings, they target different part of human body to grow there eggs.Tapeworms embed their heads in the intestinal walls where they lay eggs.these eggs get mature and larve are form which are migrate to different body parts causing diarrhoea, loss of apetite, weakness.Hookworm are another type of parasitic worm which enters the body by walking bare foot on soil.they have hooks which get attached to intestinal wall and causing fever, abdominal pain.pin worms are fully matured worms live in the colon and rectum.female lays eggs around excreatory system during night and it causes itching in anal areas.Flukes are another type of flatworm they make their home in the intesite, blood and tissues.one of the harmful among them is liver fluke they live in the bile duct infecting liver causing a disease named as fascioliasis.
No,they are not in the same phylum as phylum of tape worm is platyhelminths, hook worm phylum in nematode, pinworm also from the phylum nematode, liver fluke belongs to platyhelminthes.so they belongs to different phylum having flat or round structure.
