There are many cases of failure of ERP implementation and the most common cause is lack of clarity on requirements. `Thus, If organizations wants to implement Enterprise applications, it must do its homework and find out the requirements and priorities them. It should then ask various vendors for a analysis of those requirements and if they can be designed in the ERP package. If not, how the requirement can be addressed by the customization. Customizations should be avoided as much as possible because of their high cost of maintenance. In case of requirement not supported by standard enterprise package, organization should consider change in business process. However, in some cases, those business processes are competitive advantage and organizations should not change them and thus discard the ERP that does not support their business processes that provided competitive advantage. The difference is that their work has meaning, passion, a reason to service and excel. They will not just work to fill in their time. That is why they seem to have much more time and energy. They achieve goal after goal, setting the bar higher and higher.

The reason I have goals that inspire me is because I manage to tap into my passions and realise my higher life purpose. Doing that is very important.
