Personal ethics is a branch of philosophy that deals with belief of an individual about morality or values. It varies among individuals and is generally rooted in the values of the family in which the individual grows. It can also be influenced by culture of the society, religion, education, country where one lives etc. In order to be successful in life and career it is better to write down the ideas and philosophies and beliefs one have in their mind. This written document is the personal code of ethics. This is one of the most important things one can do, because it makes decision making a lot simpler.

In order to write personal code of ethics one has to collect some information about self. This includes what you believe you are. In order to write down this part, one has to think of all the nice words others have mentioned, like kind, helpful etc. Then come the information about our beliefs. It can base on religious books, or simply you can write it down based on your own ideas. It should also include how you deal with others in the work place or play area or rest area. Your dealing with a person who misbehaves with you or about gossips that you like to talk about also should be included. After gathering all these information, the code of ethics can be written which is strictly tailored to one’s needs and beliefs. The first part should include the purpose of having personal code of ethics, whether it is to have a successful life or to inspire in life’s difficult situations etc,. The second part should include the character one likes to develop and that are already present. This section is the aspiration section. The third is the most important part that deals with one’s behavior to others. This part is actually the reason every information that was gathered about you. This part can act as a foundation for every word you speak and every action you take in your life. This can prevent you from speaking bad words, gossips, do things that irritate or harm others. It can help you to take decisions in situations like changing jobs, choosing a friend or a partner, etc. It can also helps in accepting certain truths even though they are bitter, and also face worse situations like losing a loved one or an accident.
