Create the balanced equation for the synthesis of tris(acetylacetonato)aluminum(III). Use the full formulas for the reactants employed in the lab. Explain why all of your syntheses were carried out under alkaline conditions.
I'm not sure what to use, this is what the experiment said: Prepare a solution of 29.2 mmol acetylacetone in 40 mL water and 8 mL of 5M aqueous ammonia. Dissolve 4.87 mmol Al2(SO4)3 · 18 H2O in 30 mL water. With magnetic stirring, slowly add the acac solution to the aluminum solution. Explanation of steps greatly appreciated!
A solution of alum Al2(SO4)3.16H2O (0.1M) was prepared using
distilled water. The solution was acidic. To this
solution, an ammoniacal solution of acetylacetone was added in
small proportions with continuous stirring and then solution became
neutral or slightly basic. Magnetic stirrer is used for 15 minutes
. The pale yellow precipitate formed, was filtered, washed with
dried under vacuum. Then recrystallised it.

Prelab questions 1,2, and 3 and Part E questions Also, write a flowchart of the experiments process in each part. EXPERIMENT 3 DETERMINATION OF Δo The d orbitals of a metal ion in an octahedral ligand or crystal field are split into a higher energyset (eg) and a lower energy set (t2g) as shown in the following energy level diagram. 11 The energy difference between the upper and lower energy levels is Δo, the octahedral crystal field splitting. The degree...
Experiment Write Up Proposal You will write up a synthesis procedure for one reaction that could be potentially run in a face- to-face Chem 2321 lab session. Your proposal will include an introduction and procedure. The procedure will include step-by-step instructions for running the reaction (including reaction monitoring), work-up. (product isolation and purification), and analysis (characterization). You will need to include sample calculations for percent yield and provide sample spectra analysis. You must upload your proposal as a single document...
