material, its apparent weight when fully submerged in water is
measured. The apparent weight in water is 17.5 N and the weight
in air is 27.5 N. What is the density of the material?

To find the density of the material,

we use the below equation

Where ρf is the density of fluid

ρobj is the desnity of object.

From the given data

Actual weight = 27.5 N

apparent weight = 17.5 N

Density of fluid = Density of water ρf = 1000 kg/m3

substituting in the above equation we get,

27.5-17.5 / 27.5 = 1000/ ρobj

=> ρobj = 2750 kg/m3
