Answer #1

Chlorophyll traps light energy to break water molecules into hydrogen ion and oxygen, the process called photolysis. Chlorophylls are present in the wall of thylakoids. Chlorophylls absorb sun light's energy and excites electron to processes or movements next to them, The one and only function of the chlorophyll is to trap sunlight and pass on to next stages of photosynthesis. Other than chlorophylls many pigments like carotenoids, xanthophylls which traps energy from the sun and gives the energy to chlorophylls.
