1:A: Describe the difference between crashing and fast
tracking.
B: During Schedule Development, resources are assigned
to the project activities. Describe resource leveling heuristics
and why and when you use this technique.
c: What are the advantages and disadvantages of using
project management software?
Answer. 1 A: Crashing and Fast tracking are Resource leveling technique being used by project managers. Most commonly used concept is Critical Path but when situation is difficult they use Fast tracking and Crashing.
Fast Tracking: The main function of this technique is that although the work is finished for the moment, possibility of rework is higher. This follows critical path and time.
Crashing: This technique is to assign resources in addition for the current resources to get work done faster, concerned with additional cost like labor, equipment, etc.
Answer 1 B: Schedule development defines the start and finish dates for project activities. It must iterated prior to determination of project schedule.
Resource Leveling Heuristics: Heuristics is known as Thumb of rule" and this Resource leveling technique is used to flatten schedule when resources are over allocated. This is a technique of Schedule Development.Mathematical Analysis often produces a preliminary schedule that requires more resources during certain time periods.
Answer 1 C: Project Management Software is used to optimize processes, making sure they have good efficiency and effectiveness in a project. This is most commonly used tool in a effective manner.
Advantages of Project Management Software are:
Disadvantages of Project Management Software are:
1. Some programs are expensive with little ROI
2. It may complicate some projects
3. Problems in Execution when rely on automated alerts.

Resource Loading and Leveling Concept 1) The typical resource managed in most projects is people’s time. Additional resources that may need to be considered are: Machine time/capacity – Does the project require time on a specific machine, particularly one that is a scarce resource? Facility availability – Are facilities physically large enough to serve the needs of the project? In labor-intensive projects this could be the facility of office space including desks, chairs, phones, and computers. Transportation – Some projects,...
Question 18 What are the two principles when crashing a project? Focus on the critical path, select the least expensive alternative. Reduce the cost, reduce the duration. Reduce the duration, increase the cost. Reduce the use of resources, reduce the cost 4 points Question 19 The formula for computing the cost/time slope for each activity that can be crashed is . (Crash cost + Normal cost) / (Crash time + Normal time) (Crash cost - Normal cost) / (Crash time...
Describe the difference between formative evaluation and summary evaluation in project management. Why is it better to rely on a variety of information sources for evaluation rather than just a few? Give some examples of how several sources are used in project evaluation.
