M13 phage is mainly a bacteriophage , this M13 phage cause turbid plaques instead of clear plaques due to the lysis of bacterial cells by M13 phage are higher when compared to the growth of bacteria. It is a filamentous bacteriophage. single-stranded circular DNA genome.The M13 phage lysogenic stages includes attachment, penetration, uncoating, biosynthesis, maturation, and release. These bacteriophages are involved in lytic and lysogenic cycle. The lytic cycle leads to the death of the host, whereas the lysogenic cycle leads to integration of phage into the host genome. In which there is a temperate phage which have the ability to display lytic and lysogenic life cycle, most of the temperate phages can integrate their genomes into their host's chromosome.
