Ans:Autoinducers are signalling molecules that have no other function than to communication.so option 4 is correct.

These signalling molecules are released by one bacteria like of same kind like pseudomonas aeruginosa and it is intercepted by another same bacteria by entering the cell and binding to its receptor.

Acyl homoserine lactone or AHL is an example of Autoinducer.

This unique cell to cell communication is also called quorum sensing.It enables them to monitor their density,presence and conditions around.
