if you had a patient with bilingual aphasia, how would you decide what language the therapist should speak to best suit the needs of the client

Bilingual Aphasia , the language impairement in which the individual faces a situation where the effect is on the multiple languages which is used by the him or her .

The therapist should go along with the "Primary language " as compared to the second or third language . The focus on primary language should be there because of the various factors like

1. Age at which the individual acquired the language

Here the primary language gets the upper hand as its the first language which has been acquired by the person . So the structural , phonological knowledge of the person about the primary language would be very much clear and in the best form .

2. The time period of language usage

Here the focus is upon the time period or the usage of the language , although various studies have indicated that even if the primary and the secondary language are used equally in terms of time , the effect of illness (Bilingual aphasia )would be more upon the structural formation of the secondary language than that of the primary one .

So the therapist should go along with the primary language as the focus of treatment or as a communicative source as the deficiency rate of the primary language would be much lesser to that of the secondary one .
