Scope and Scheduling of the project is done before the project team begins working on the project.
Scope of the project in simple terms is knowing the project goals, tasks,output or end product or deliverable service or and calculation of total cost of the project .
Allocation of the resources and time to a project and calculating the estimated time to complete the project can be defined as a schedule. In simple terms, we can call it as a timetable to be followed while working on the project.
Purpose of Scope and Scheduling after staring the project:
Once the project is started, the team members should look for any significant deviations of the project from the project planned. That is why change management must be included in development, testing phases of the SDLC.
Change management is needed when one of the following situations arises:
In any of the above cases there is a need for rescheduling the project timelines is required thus scheduling is necessary even the project is already started.
In the first two scenarios, the scope of the project also changes. Thus the scope and schedule of the project have a purpose till the project ends.
