  • Classful subnetting does not import subnet mask whereas Classless subnetting imports subnet mask .
  • In classful subnetting, VLMS (Variable Length Subnet Mask) and CIDR (Classless Inter-Domain Routing)  are not supported. Classless subnetting supports both VLMS and CIDR.
  • In classful subnetting, subnet mask is same throughout. Whereas in classless subnetting, subnet mask is not same throughout.
