Suppose you go to work for an organization that you discover does not align with your personal values. You are in a leadership role, and you are not in a position to leave the job. How do you ethically represent the company without compromising your own beliefs? What opportunities would there be for you to strengthen yourself as a leader and to strengthen the organization? It is important to value ethics, for instances integrity, honesty, and responsibility to be a good leader for making the workplace a better life experience. It has been observed of the organization that the ethical values violated by the employees and higher authorities. To continue the job within this environment either you have to adjust with these unethical issues or you have to take a strong step and make your own way with the establishment of your own ethical values. I have chosen the second one when I have faced some unethical incidences in my workplace. This may involve enough amount of politeness, respect to others with a little manipulation and the huge amount of honesty, guts, integrity, and self-beliefs from my side.
Being a leader I have to manage both the higher authority and team members equally and effectively with indirect and manipulative ways without losing self-integrity as I believe that diplomacy is a part to direct others in my way. It is important to find a way to bridge the gaps between the culture of the office and self values. I was appointed as a project manager and I was asked to manipulate the data to balance the monthly sales profits. But, I decided to call for a meeting and prepare my subordinates to achieve realistic sales profit with honesty and manage the higher authority by manipulative words with politeness and respects.
The first and most important possibility to be a good and strong leader is that one can set a good example of the best working environment within the office. Self-satisfaction is another point that should not be forgotten. A strong leader may have the ability to strengthen the sales profits and future prospects of the organization.
