Ans 7) Carrying capacity refers to the number of individuals that can be supported by an environment indefinitely. Carrying capacity is represented by "K". It can vary depending on the availability of resources and space and can also be determined by competition, predation and climate conditions.

In the case of humans, suppose there is one small room which can accomodate 50 people with essential resources like food, water, oxygen, space etc but these resources are enough for 50 people. Now,if 1 more person wants to accomodate in that room but the room has already reached its carrying capacity so that person won't be able to accomodate in that room. Similarly, in the nature when the number of individuals exceeds the carrying capacity, decrease in the population growth rate is observed or increase in death rate is observed.
