A cause and effect diagram is also popularly termed as fishbone diagram This method is commonly used to come up with the different possible reasons which can result in some kind of problems and these reasons can be classified in different classes. This can be seen as a pictorial view of the cause and effects of any problem.

Flow charts can be seen as a simple diagram which helps in daefining a certain process in order t explain it to others. This can also be utilized to define and evaluate a certain process as it provides a stepwise picture. This is commonly used to explain the different steps involved in any process and the different logic used to solve that problem.

Check sheets are nothing but the manual sheets which are used for the data collection in real time at the place where the actual process is performed. These sheets are commonly used for temporary purposes or for developing normal processes. Prompt recording and analysis of data can be provided by these sheets.

A Pareto chart is mainly a distribution diagram in which different values are diagrammed in the form of vertical bars in the descending order of frequencies. The bars on the left side represents the greater frequencies and thus these issues must be addressed on the highest priority.

A histogram is mainly used to express the reasons for occurring a problem in the form of columns. The frequency of each cause is represented by the height of that column.

The main use of a control chart is in determining the way in which a certain process changes over a period of time. Different data are graphed in order to time. There will be an average line, upper control line and lower control line in these charts.

Scatter diagrams are commonly used to see the relationship between two variables. The first variable is normally an independent one while the other one depends on the first variable. By changing the values of the independent variable, the relationship between the two variables can be found by learning about the variations in the dependent variable.

Brainstorming is a method of data collection or problem-solving method in which different experts sit together and they discuss the issue and provide their opinion and ideas and these ideas are recorded to have the analysis and to find out the problem solution of an issue.

Cost-benefit analysis is mainly done in order to determine the relative significance of different alternatives. Pay off is mainly the outcome of the various alternatives The alternative with the highest pay off is preferred.
