PLANTS IN DENTISTRY

  • World health organisation (WHO) reported that 80% of worlds population depend upon traditional medicines for their primary health care needs.
  • The herbal products are widely used for treatment of various dental disorders.
  • In early days people uses natural tooth brushes which are made from healing plants.
  • The herbal formulations have capacity to prevent the production of proinflammatory mediators.
  • In dentistry herbal formulations are used as antimicrobial, antiinflamatory, sedative and anxiolytics.
