Answer #1

A Monoprotic Acid donates one H+ ion (also called proton) when made a solution in water. Every acid donates proton in its solution. A Diprotic Acid will donate two proton, Triprotic Acid three and a Polyprotic Acid acid will donate more than three.

HCl, HNO3, CH3COOH are examples of monoprotic acid because they dissociate into one proton and an anion in their solution.

Two examples of acids which are not monoprotic acids is H2SO4 and H3PO4

H2SO4 which is also called sulphuric acid is a diprotic acid. This donates two protons in its solution.

H3PO4 which is also called phosphoric acid is a triprotic acid, donates three protons in its solution.
