What was the burden in Rudyard Kippling’s “White Man’s Burden”?

Uplifting savage people was very expensive

Being an imperial power was a thankless job that required tremendous sacrifice and often ended in failure

Imperialism resulted in the death of many subjugated peoples and as the civilized leaders of the world the Western powers generally felt very guilty about this.

Imperialism required a level of cultural sensitivity that left many imperialists suffering from identity crises

C. Imperialism resulted in the death of many subjugated peoples and as the civilized leaders of the world the Western powers generally felt very guilty about this.

Kipling suggests that these white man will not walk or enter the ports they’ll make, but instead they will make them with their lives and mark them with their deaths as their creation meaning they will never use and enjoy the results of their hard work. Lastly Kipling tells how the white man’s rewards will be the blame,hate and cry of those they try to save by civilizing.
