PROFESSIONALISM

It means to have the quality of professionals. Professional can be termed as the candidate who with his knowledge and skills continue to develop in the organisation. Working in the organisation and every time nourishing your skills help to improvise those skills thereafter being the expert and professional in those skills.

Hence Professionalism means the conduct of individual in overall aspects. The person is said to be in professionalism when that person respect others, is knowledgeable, is punctual, knows how to tackle complex situation , is updated with the current affairs and is trust worthy.

STRATEGIES USED BY MEMBERS TO ASSERT THEMSELVES AS PROFESSIONALS

1. ETHICAL CODE OF CONDUCT : Every leader or manager should work for what is right in an organization.One should be able to judge the difference between right and wrong. Follow ethical practices in the organisation.
2. STRONG COMMUNICATION SKILLS : The professional are very clear in their thoughts and can communicate those thought is a better way to other. Their communication skill can influence the management to work according to their theories.
3. RESPECT : Professionalism should be followed by everyone, every individual working in the organisation should be respected notwithstanding of the work they do.
4. CAREER ORIENTED : The professionals are vigilant in their thoughts and are determined towards the goal set out by the management and as well as their personal goal.
5. PLAYING FROM THE BACK FOOT :A good professional always stands back and allow their team to move forward. They help the colleagues in the organisation.
6. DECORUM : The professional are famous for maintaining the decorum with respect to their dressing style, the tone of their voice, the body language they pursue etc.

Hence the professionalism should be followed by every person whether in job or not. This will give the inner peace to the person following it.

DISPLAY PROFESSIONALISM

Professionalism is visible by the way individual carry themselves. At workplace the professionalism can be displayed as :

1. Punctuality with respect to work and meeting.
2. Disciplined and attention to every minute details needed in achieving the organisational goal.
3. Dressing properly in formals.
4. Committed toward work only and not indulged in gossips or chatting.
5. Good behavior towards other whether the other person is skilled or unskilled senior or junior.
6. No mixing of personal and professional life.
7. Using better tone of voice that shouldn't be rude to others
8. Accept the mistakes if any

Hence the conduct followed by professional should be of such nature that people should learn from them and start following their techniques in the organisation.

The person lacking in the above mentioned points is termed us professionally unprofessional.

The unprofessional is said when the candidate is not able to maintain the standard set up by the organisation.

Examples of this can be

1. Bad mouth in the office campus
2. Sending threat mails to the authorities in case of any dispute
3. Violation of any rules and regulation set by the organisation.
4. Not presenting yourself at the time when you are accountable
