Functions of Maintenance Organization

• Alterations:

Maintenance organization take part in scheduling or rescheduling the maintenance work after proper discussion and planning with the concerned production departments.

• Record keeping:

In this, they maintain records and other documents of each maintenance activity that they either performed or going to performed.This can include details of repairs,overhauls,replacements,modifications and lubrications etc.

• Reporting:

Their other function is to develop a management information system.They must report each and every actions taken by them to the top management regarding the maintenance activities.

• Inspection:

They have to carry out and facilitate periodic inspections.The inspection should be as per the pre-scheduled plan.The inspection is done on equipments to know their conditions related to their performance and failure and also the reason for the stoppage of production.

• Repairs:
