D. Body weight is below 85% of what would be expected

In bulimia the individual either has a normal weight or slightly overweight . Lower body weight is seen in anorexia nervosa . Bulimia shows fluctuations in weight upto 2-4 pounds per day .

Bulimia nervosa is a life threatening eating disorder where the individual has a fear of gaining weight. The patient binges on food ,consumes high amounts of calories and then resorts toeasures such as vvomitting and purging to control weight . Most commonly seen in adolescents and teens due to fear of distorted body image The behaviour of binging and vomitting is kept secretive due to embarassment .
