In potentiometry, the potential measured is proportional to the activity of the ion according to Nernst equation

= RT/nF .ln (ai/aio) where RT/nF is essentially a constant  aio  represents activity of the ion in a standard solution.

Activity can be expresses as the product of activity coeffecient and concentration. The value of activity coefficient is 1 at infinite dilutions.
