You are an HR manager and work with a manager and/or employee who agrees with the egoist perspective. Describe two specific ways you would frame the advantages of any HR policy (your examples can be directed at 2 managers, 2 employees, or one of each; you can the same policy for both answers or different policies). Each answer should be 2-3 sentences.
Assume the unitarist perspective of the employment relationship is accurate. What should employees expect from work? How would employers see employees? Each answer should be 2-3 sentences.
Coming from the Neo-classical thought, the egoistic perspective would be based on mutual benefits of the employer and the employee. Here the expectation of the employee would be free will whereas the employer's expectation will be maximization the profits.
Following are the examples of some of the ways in which I can take advantages of the the HR policy.
Employee 1: At peak season, the employee could be asked to work overhead in exchange of relative amount of paid leave in non peak season. In this way of incentivization may encourage the employee to be more productive.
Employee 2: Employee could be asked to reduce the number of unforced breaks like cigarette breaks to save his/her weekend holiday. asking him/her to switch to nicotin gums could be an option. This would let the employee to spend more time working also creating some health benefits.
If we consider the Unitarist perspective of employment relationship to be accurate then the employees could expect fair treatment, fulfilling work, and the satisfaction of intrinsic desires.
The employer would see the employee as psychological being rater then an economic being. They would share a common goal and work towards it rather then working as individuals with different hierarchy of powers and conflicts. The employee's interests would get higher priority against small economic benefits.
