What are some topics you believe a counselor would want to address with psychoeducation for parents to create or maintain a secure attachment?
For this purpose, the topics that a counsellor must include would be to give insight regarding the types of parenting techniques and their outcome and how democratic parenting will ensure that the child is attached to the parent and at the same time respects their opinions as well. Advise the parents not to ask probing questions to the children and threaten them with punishment, but instead facilitate an environment I'm which both the parent and the child will be able to ventilate their concerns and feelings openly as a family. Educate them not be put oneself in panic when a child comes up with a problem, but instead assist them in an approach where you focus on finding the solution to their problems rather than punishing them. After this process, they can make the children understand and learn from their mistakes and practice positive and negative reinforcement techniques appropriately.
