Henry Fayol was a French Mining Engineer who developed 14 principles of Management and referred as Founder of Modern Management method. Fayol's principles of organization are being mentioned below-

1. Division of Work

2. Authority and Responsibility

3. Discipline

4. Unity of Command

5. Unity of Direction

6.Subordination of Individual Interest to Organizational Interest

7. Remuneration of Personnel

8. Centralization

9. Scalar Chain

10.Order

11. Equity

12. Stability of Tenure of Personnel

13. Initiative

14. Espirit the Corps or Unity is strength

Max Weber was a German Socialogist who developed Theory of Bureaucracy. He developed six principles of Bureaucracy-

1.Task Specialization

2. Heirarchical Layers of authority

3.Formal selection

4.Rules and requirements

5.Impersonality and Personal Indifference

6.Career orientation

Even in today's era, Weber theory is followed widely particularly in large corporates. Hence, it is important to know him.

Difference between Fayol and Max Weber theory-

Fayol's Theory Weber's Theory
Focussed on personnel duties of management In favour of distrusting the personnels
Advocated Team Work and Personal Initiatives Advocated bureaucratic structure of organization

Decentralization of decision making power to lower level of management is resulting into less number of heirarchial levels and thus organization is becoming flatter.
