Basic types of conflict :-

a) Task conflict :-

This type of conflicts occurs when there is a differences in work assignments and completing the tasks before deadline. Sometimes when the resources are being distributed unequally, conflicts arises among the employees. When employees in a team has difference in their opinion or procedures while completing a task, other employees may oppose in the opinion which creates conflicts.

b) Relationship conflict :-

This type of conflicts arises when there is a difference in behavior, personality, communication style etc. This is considered as the most common type of conflicts in an organization. Employees needs to try to get along with the coemployees to limit the conflicts. If the issue doesn't resolved then it must be addressed to the manager to get a solution.

c) Value conflict :-

This type of conflicts arises when there is a difference in the values of employees. This type of values include political, economic, cultural, societal, religion, ethics etc. which an employee has as a belief. The issue of politics or even religion occurs which makes differences in the decision making that creates dispute among the employees in a workplace.

Importance of understanding the loci of conflicts :-

To solve a problem it is important to first understand the source of a conflict. This way it would be a lot easier to understand the nature of the conflict and which gives an idea whether it is a good conflict or bad conflict. The source and location of a conflict identifies the correct solution which would fix the conflict. Without understanding the loci of a conflict it would be difficult for the managers to solve the problem which would affect the productivity of an organization.
