Dear Student,

Daily tidal cycle is a series of high tide followed by succesive low tide. Tide cycle depend heavily on the geographical location, hence they vary from place to place.

Tides are the rise and fall of sea level due to the gravitational pull of the moon. The moon's gravitational pull causes the earth and its water to bulge out from the side closer to the moon at a certain point in a day. This phenomenon occurs periodically and is thus called tidal cycle.

There three types of tidal cycle:

  1. Semi-diurnal Tides: This is the most common tidal pattern, it features two high tides and two low tides daily.
  2. Diurnal Tides: This type of tide feature a single high and single low tide throughout a day.
  3. Mixed Tides: These tides have a mixed pattern in the tidal cycle. There is wide variation in heights of succesive high and low tides

Thank you!

Please leave a thumbs up.
