Explain the kind of leader/manager you aspire to be by expounding on the characteristics, knowledge, and skills you feel are necessary. Taking into account the tools and techniques gleaned from the course materials and your own personal research, elucidate how an understanding of Human Resources is important to reaching your leadership aspirations. Include a list of HR areas that you want to improve upon and then construct an implementation plan of various techniques to assist in your leadership growth.

According to me a leader exhibits the following traits

1. Leader has a lot of influence.

influence comes from trust. Trust comes from peoples belief in your competence as manager & your character as a person.

2. Leader enjoys a wide network of different people

Connects with & enjoys good professional relationship with different people

3. Leader weilds a lot of power

Seven personal qualities that build power

Will - Ambition, energy & focus

Skill - 1.Self knowledge & reflective mindset 2. confidence & ability to project self assurance 3. ability to read others & empathize with their point of view 4. capacity to tolerate conflict

4. Leader has an ability to peek into the future

Insync with present & Strong sense of judgement gives an ability to look & shape the future

5. Leader is invested in people's progress

Leader actively mentors people & develops personnel.

Implementation plan

An implementation plan depends on the current role you are holding. Basis that a diagnostic gap analysis must preclude any implementation plan. Evolving into a leadership role is a continuous journey & you cannot measure leadership progress directly. You can measure it by the progress made in your own career into greater leadership roles.
