Answer- 18. Platelet concentrates have somestorage parameters that should be taken care of while storing the platelet concentrate. The room temperature for the storage ranges from 21-25 degree celsius which sometimes also varies by 1 degree on both the ends with a gentle agitation until use.

From the date of collection platelet concentrate can be stored for 5 days that is the shelf life of the same is for 5 days. If the platelets are pooled, they usually last for 4 hours.

19.DAMPS are realeased from Necrotic dead cells (a) and not from apoptotic ones, The dying cells release these damage associated molecular patterns (DAMPS) that helps in activation of the immune system and hence helps in contributing to the host defense. There are specific receptors called pattern recognition receptors and with the help of these they help in activating the innate immune system.

20. With the patient that has high PT and APTT, fresh frozen plasma (FPP) is the most a;ppropriate way of blood transfusion method. It has proven to be the best therapeutic transfusion practices, the parameters like prothrombin time (PT) and activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT) are the factors carrying highest risk for bleeding in any clinical measures or operations. The FPP is carrying low levels of blood clotting factors and blood proteins but it is the most effective and safest method of blood transfusion.
