Briefly outline an experiment that would determine the relative potencies of two agonists acting at different receptors e.g. carbachol and serotonin
An agonist can be defined as a drug which binds to a receptor and activates it, producing a pharmacological response (contraction, relaxation, secretion, enzyme activation, etc.). The term potency is used as a comparative term for distinguishing which agonist has a higher affinity for a given receptor. The drug which can produce an effect at lower drug concentrations is “more potent”. Relative potency can be defined as the ratio of the potency of a test drug (i.e. its EC50, IC50, etc.) to that of a standard drug.
Experimental design:
Estimates of the log equipotent molar ratio relative to standard on tissue 1 at a certain temperature like 37oC plotted against the log equipotent molar ratio relative to standard on tisue 2 at the same temperature.

2. neurotransmitters for each. indicate location Within the
division where NT is released
3. receptor type with main location
4. organ response to stimulation list these specific organs eyes

How would you design an experiment to test whether a tranduction event occured between two different bacterial strains?
Multiple charges at different locations are said to be in equilibrium if the force acting on any one of them is identical in magnitude and direction to the force acting on any of the others. Suppose we have two negative charges, one located at the origin and carrying charge -9e, and the other located on the positive x-axis at a distance d from the first one and carrying charge -36e. Determine the location, polarity and magnitude of a third charge...
How would you design an experiment to test whether a tranduction event occured between two different bacterial strains?
An experiment was run to determine the effects of two different
suppliers of raw materials and three different production lines on
pipe diameters. Based on the following interaction plot obtained
from performing two-way ANOVA, we can say
a. There is no significant interaction effect on diameter.
b. There is a significant interaction effect on diameter.
c. Line 2 results in pipes with the largest mean diameter,
regardless of supplier.
d. Line 3 results in pipes with the largest mean diameter,...
Design a probability experiment to determine the empirical probability of tossing two heads with two coins. Why might results be different from theoretical probability and how can the experiment be altered so that the theoretical and empirical results become equal? Design a probability experiment to determine the empirical probability of rolling a 2 or a 5 with one die.Why might the results be different from theoretical probability and how can the experiment be altered so that the theoretical and empirical...

Briefly explain what you would expect to see in the UV-visible spectra of the first two compounds you will prepare in this experiment, [Ni(NH3)6][BF4]2 and [Et4N]2[NiCl4]. Which would you expect to give the stronger absorptions, and why?
