Despite our best efforts, and most comprehensive business plans, bad things can happen. Sometimes, these bad things are so out of human control, all business owners can do is try to minimize the damage.

In cases of natural disasters, or man-made disasters, every business must have a recovery plan. There are four basic elements to a recovery plan.

Communications: Identify who will get in touch with employees, vendors, and customers. Maintain a detailed contact list.

Base of operations: Decide where people should go if business location is inaccessible.

Priority activities: Identify which business activities are most essential/time-sensitive.

Return to facilities: Outline a process for regrouping and planning.

TASKS:

1. Assume a natural disaster, such as a hurricane or tornado, is predicted for your area and it has the potential to severely impact your operations for the business you're creating in your final project.

2. Using the four elements listed above, create a recovery plan for your business. Add as many specific details for each element as possible -- such as names, dates, contact numbers, addresses, and the like.

1. Communications

In case of natural disaster the following persons are to be contacted:

a. For Employees - Mr. X, Head HR (9756432143)

b. For Vendors- Mr. Y, Purchase Manager(8945627856)

c. For Customers- Mr.Z, Customer care Executive (8547569586)

2. Base of operations

In case of any natural disaster the operations will shut down and the people need to report at our corporate office in city xyz. The address and contact details of corporate office are:

3. Priority activities

In case of any disaster, the following primary activities should take place:

  • To safeguard all the employees.
  • To safeguard the finished good inventory and raw material inventory.
  • To communicate to the concerned persons of top management.
  • To communicate to the customers whose orders are in processing
  • to make alternate plans for minimizing the losses.

4. Return to facilities

In case of any disaster, the work should be resumed as soon as possible after the situation is controlled.

People should conduct a meeting to find ways of recovery.

the things should be re-implemented to bring plant into function.
