One of the companies that has been honored for its CSR is Levis Strauss & Co. A company that manufactures denim jeans is a private American clothing company. It always tries to reduce its environmental footprint. It has a "worker well- being" initiative to improve life of their employees. They use less water when manufacturing their products and have started a "WATER LESS" campaign. They have saved more than 1 billion liters of water and are trying to get efficient in the same everyday. In 2020 the company plans to completely stop using chemicals and replace it with laser to cut and design ripped part of jeans. This one move can lessen so much of environmental burden.
One company which is a bad example considering its CSR activities is GAP. They have lack of effective commitment to protecting workers health and safety in Bangladesh.
Another company which failed to show CSR and one of the latest one is Halliburton. it is a Oil and gas equipment and services company. They have a very toxic culture which is against human race.It is a company which has profited a lot from the war in Iraq since 2003. It got its profits from partiality shown towards it in Washington. as its ex CEO was a vice president .They had their hand in the famous Deepwater Horizon explosion, which led to death of 11 people and one of the worsts oil spill till date.
