Answer #1

In gender stereotyping, there is a dominance of overgeneralized view regarding certain genders. For example, certain mail employees might have the generalized view that women employees are not capable of assuming high-level management jobs in an organization. Such gender stereotyping creates a harmful work culture in which workers of different genders fail to work harmoniously and their productivity gets affected. Gender stereotyping affects teamwork, mutual trusts, and synergy.

The Human Resources Department can take a number of actions such as:

  • Communicating effectively and sensitizing workers regarding the negative aspects of gender stereotyping
  • Developing organizational norms and policies to prevent gender discrimination
  • Busting myths regarding genders
  • Building trust and teamwork among employees of different genders
