Do you all think that most laws have a "loophole" that enables companies to get around compliance - or perhaps just that with the passage of time, new technology etc develops that makes the law perhaps a bit too narrow to "fit" the situation anymore?

It is true and I agree that laws become narrow over a period of time that makes it necessary for the lawmakers to revise the laws. For example, a law related to banks, help its to get deregulated. But, the bankers took the benefits of it, and opted in moral hazard related activities that led to the financial crisis of 2008. But, it is up to the certain extent and laws hold its relevance up to a certain level. For example, Sherman act, Clayton act and Serbanse Oxley act have still maintained the relevance.

Hence, it is right to say, the laws become narrower and needs regular review and modifications so that the laws stay ahead of the ill intentions of the businesses who try to find the loopholes in laws.
