How should companies respond to government request to break their own security systems. Apple has had numerous requests from law enforcement to break into iPhones confiscated in criminal and terrorism cases. Can Apple be forced to provide a “backdoor” allowing government agencies to defeat the security they have designed into their products?,

Security and safety of the people is of prime importance and it is the ethical obligation from the end of companies to ensure that their devices will not be used as a tool  to breach the security. In this regard, the companies like Apple should develop a solution that can let government to enter through the security and get verification of the device and its data. Here, companies should not hand over the solution to the government, rather they will do it themselves at their specified centers. Afterwards, the device will be handed over to the government. Besides, Apple, Blackberry has also faced the similar request by the government to intercept its push messages to prevent terrorist and criminal activities.

Apple can be forced if the law permits it to provide a backdoor solution to the government agencies. If not, then government should first amend its laws and provisions, and on the basis of its amendment, they can force Apple to provide the solution.  Though, it should be resolved on a case to case basis, and Apple would also respond positively in the wake of the security issues faced by people and help government. Here, government should also ensure that it should not harm the commercial interest of the Apple company.
