  • To explore low cost distribution strategy and achieve optimum cost saving in the distribution process.
  • To explore lowest possible lead time for the distribution process in the entire network of shoe sale.

Distribution strategies of a hypothetical shoe business which sells online as below

  • For online sale, the distribution strategy is to distribute the shoes to the warehouse connected to the online network. This keeps the sufficient safety stock at the warehouse designated for meeting the online demands. The timely distribution strategy is based on the forecasted demand for the online requirements.
  • The online demand has multiple points of warehouses, in the order of preferences, for organizing the shipment of parts needed. Hence online demand can be managed and planned from the multiple warehouses.
  • Online demand can be managed with the help of nearby retail network/ wholesalers.   

Distribution strategies for the retail and wholesale are as below

  • The shoes products will be dispatched from the manufacturing plant to the regional warehouse. The four major regional warehouse in the east, west , north and south part of the nation.
  • The distribution will be carried out form the regional warehouses to the local warehouses which will be covering major populated areas.
  • The distribution will be carried out from the local warehouses to the wholesale locations. The wholesale locations will get their required shoes stocks.
  • The retailer will be get the parts from the wholesalers in their region and the distribution will be carried out form the wholesalers to retail.
  • Retailer will be able to sale the shoes products in the market as per their needs.
