What is the Open Virtualization Format, and how does it facilitate the migration of virtual machines between hypervisors?
What is the Open Virtualization Format?
OVF or Open Virtualization Format is a specification or standard
platform-independent, efficient
for packaging and distrubuting for virtual machines.
it is a file extenstion in which it exported.
It contains multiple files in a single directory and for metadata
uses XML file that contains
critical info like specs required for deploying VM.
All major cloud vendors(VMware, RHEL, AWS, GCP) support ovf
format.
It is managed by Distributed Management Task Force (DMTF).
OVF come in existense from collaboration of all major vendors.
and how does it facilitate the migration of virtual machines between hypervisors?
for migrating any VM it must converted to OVF template and every
vendor has a tool.
OVF verifies the condition of VM and check for standards.
while on deploying on another hypervisor let say it was exported
from VMware EXSI and deploying to Hyper-V
it check the specs that bundled in OVF package, after passing all
the test it get deployed to host.
Then server loads all the file and memory state.

How does this structure affects competitive balance? Explain. Suppose the NBA moved to an open structure with 24 teams in the top tier.
