According to Bryson (2018), creating significant and “lasting public value” requires a clear vision of where the organization wants to be at the end of the strategic planning process. For public and nonprofit organizations, this can be an even greater challenge, given the complex political and institutional environments associated with such organization types. Post by Day 4 an analysis of the importance of having a clear vision in the strategic planning process for public or nonprofit organizations. In your explanation, identify and analyze key guidelines used for formulating a successful vision for a public or nonprofit organization and how they support the process of identifying a clear vision.
To formulate a successful vision, a private, nonprofit and public organizations must follow the following guidelines:
1. Vision statements must be small, a maximum of two sentences long.
2. Vision statements must describe the outcome of the vision and it must be specific to the business.
3. Words must never be used that encourage interpretation.
4. The language must be simple enough for people outside and inside the organization to understand.
5. Vision statements must align with the values of the company.
All these guidelines help an organization to frame their company's vision. Furthermore, it acts as a blueprint for organizations and companies to follow and formulate their vision of the future.

Write a reflective paragraph summarizing your thoughts. Organizational change research has been criticized for neglecting the role of history in the study of change (Pettigrew et al., 2001).
