Why is it a good idea to sign your public key in PGP?
In a public-private key pair, the sender sends the public key to all its receivers. If the key is not signed it can attract hackers and attacks.
The sender's address may be altered by the hacker can changed to its own address. Therefore, if receivers want to communicate with the original sender, they will actually be sending back messages to the hacker and not the sender. Due to the encryption, the hacker may not be able to decipher the message but can easily hamper the communication between the intended sender-receiver.
An up-vote/thumbs-up would be greatly appreciated!
